Welcome to Robin Hill Recipes
Most people would love to own a restaurant! Just imagine all that good food surrounding you and waiting to be prepared into a masterpiece ready to sink your teeth into. This is part of a realistic scene of owning a restaurant and certainly one of the most enjoyable parts. The restaurant burned to the ground one Labor Day weekend, dashing our plans for a beloved restaurant to have until we departed this life. However, the recipes, charm of good service and learning remain. Perhaps someday, we will have another restaurant. Until then, there is Robin Hill Recipes to continue the ambience. Welcome and enjoy your visit. Come back anytime. We are open 24/7, no reservations required.
Tribute to the Truck Farmer
by Lori Gunn ©
Farming and ranching are difficult businesses. The only way to describe the life is 24/7 365 days a year. Many of the big farms and ranches sold for housing or commercial enterprises. Some rent the land out for pasture or for others who want to try their hand at growing from the land in a small way. Politics has a lot to do with the fate of our food supply, but those issues are better addressed in other places. Therefore, Mr or Ms Truck Farmer, I salute you!
Awakened by the sun at 0-dark-forty
Just two hours ago, you finally got to rest
A mama having babies too early in the year
Keeping them alive will be a test
Of the skill you have learned at survival
And all that it takes to be free
Because when it comes to feeding our nation
In the end it depends on you, you see
No international borders exist
As yet from state to state
Pest- and disease-free agriculture
Cross over while it is not too late
Keep on growing the food, please
And maintain the Farmers Markets too
Your dedications is appreciated
Some owe their meals to you.
